2009, an enlarged scope
June 2008 - June 2009

Whilst the first awards focussed on renovation in the residential sector, in 2009 the scope of the Awards was widened considerably, to include both new build and renovation projects in the residential and non-residential sectors - acknowledging the fact that energy efficiency is an objective that can, and should, be achieved, regardless of the type of building project involved.
As a result, a wide range of projects were presented, from a family house to a commercial headquarters building and from the renovation of a moutain refuge to the construction of a new university.

Participating countries
The participating countries were: Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Latvia, Spain, Switzerland.
Awards ceremony in Vienna
June 12th, 2009

More than 80 people attended the 2009 ISOVER Energy Efficiency Awards ceremony in Vienna. The afternoon begun with a city tour to discover some interesting sites of Vienna, and continued with the visit of two impressive passive buildings, a student hostel and an office building. In the evening, the gala diner and awards ceremony took place in the prestigious Kinsky Palace, where the winners received their diploma and, for some of them, had their "best of" book dedicated by all the participating architects. To extend the celebration, most of the winners also spent the week-end in the sunny Vienna.
